Step by step steps
1 - Preparation
Prepare your workspace. Make sure you have all the materials: ceramic support, mosaic tiles, tube of glue, colored grout powder and sponge. You will also need a pair of scissors, a bowl-type container, a spoon and water. Following the model of your choice, position 4 tiles in width and 4 in height, leaving a similar space between each tile.
2 - Collage
Take some glue and cut the end of the tube with a pair of scissors to create a hole. Glue your tiles already positioned in step 1, one by one to fix them.
To do this, place a drop of glue on the back of the tile and spread it with the tip. Then place it on your support and repeat the operation for each tile. Make sure to measure the amount of glue under the tiles so that the glue does not come up too much on the sides when placing them on the ceramic support. The glue does not dry instantly. You have about 5 minutes to change the position of the tiles on your support before the glue dries.
If you prefer, you can also apply glue directly to the support, little by little, and stick the tiles on top.
3 - Drying
Once all your tiles are glued, wait about 20 minutes for your creation to dry perfectly. You can then move on to the grouting step.
4 - Joint
The joint is very messy, don't forget to bring the pair of gloves provided. In a bowl, pour the joint powder and add a little water, little by little, mixing with a spoon. Add water until you obtain a homogeneous toothpaste-type texture (about 1/4 water for 3/4 joint).
If you want, you can add white grout to adjust the intensity and make your color lighter.
Apply the mixture obtained on the tiles , and spread with your finger so that the The joint fits well between all the tiles. Be careful not to overflow on the sides to obtain a beautiful finish. The duration of use of the joint paste obtained is 10 minutes.
5 - Cleaning
Wait 20 minutes, then pass the damp sponge over your mosaic to remove the excess grout without digging it. Wait 2 to 3 hours to clean again. You can use a tissue or a dry cloth to restore the shine of the tiles.
If necessary, use white vinegar to further clean the resistant grout on the tiles. Let it dry again for 24 hours before using your mosaic!
